  Crucible
is a 5-piece progressive rock band from Connecticut. Although their
music shows a strong early-Genesis influence, and has been compared very
favorably with that seminal prog band, their sound has its own strong identity,
with the stated goal of evolving into a style recalling the best-known
progressive bands of the 70s. Their sound has been described as "a
very 70s symphonic prog sound while avoiding the overdramatic feel that
plagues much of the neoprogressive movement" and "a melting pot for the
sounds of the forefathers of the progressive rock movement".
